Getting Married

Hello everyone! It's been awhile and so many things happened already waaah! Sorry for not updating you sooner (waw. kala mo naman daming following haha!)... but here goes the first one... Last November 9, I got married to this awesome guy (nukkkks!).

#InsicknessandinHealth

Hi everyone! Just sneaking in a short post on our honeymoon here in Palawan! Sandwiched in between the glorious snaps of beaches and lagoons are the mundane and typical moments of two people. Halfway into our honeymoon, our stomachs started to take somersaults and i started throwing up the meals I just ate, in short nag LBM kami. Hahahah! Yaaaaak! How very romantic! 😂 Before the “incident” lol!     What that resulted to was a full day in bed.. it was Dennis who first had diarrhea. The next day, it was my turn. In bouts of nausea, alternate turns to the bathroom, 8-hour interval antibiotics and gulps of pocari sweat — i saw a glimpse of what real life marriage was all about. Wow may realization si ate! 😂 It’s not sunsets or cheesy sayings or perfect jumpshots — it’s those seemingly regular moments when real love is given an opportunity to all the more show. Hi  What took the centerstage was not when Dennis took me to great island tours but i...

Breaking, though

A little more than 2 months to go before the wedding and I am feeling nervous, excited, worried, happy and a bunch of other emotions at the same time. I had to gasp a little when I saw our wedding tracker and asked for prayers for the last stretch of preparations before we say "I dos." Ang lapit na, mga te! They say that it really gets challenging as the day draws near and I couldn't agree more.  Okay so before anything else, this is kind of a heart-to-heart post which I am sharing in the hopes that you will also learn something from the challenging times we had to go through as a couple... :) So with that said, medyo mahaba po to ulit :P

#PositivelyBetter

The story of my life -- period today, beach tomorrow. At first I would cringe and melodramatically ask the Lord, "Why???" but about the 4th time it happened, I've gotten used to it and now, I just find it funny. :P Kasi sino lang ba ang makakapagsabi na nakapagsurf siya na may suot na overnight napkin diba?? Ako lang! Lol! So when it comes to this monthly visitor (with a good sense of humor, I must say), my mantra would always be, go lang nang go! I am the type of person who wouldn't want to miss out on anything so I don't let my period stop me.

Kitchen Newbie Right Here

Since our wedding is just around the corner, the call to being a domesticated wife is beckoning. Just so you have an idea on how totally clueless I am in the kitchen, I had to google this just the other day: "clove of garlic" --because I didn't know whether the clove meant just the small piece of a garlic or the whole thing (so apparently it's just the small piece).  Kawawa diba? :P

Got Tribe?

Here’s a scenario: You find yourself seated beside your college friend whom you haven’t seen and talked to for years, what types of questions do you ask? “Where do you work now?” “What do you do?” “When did you move?” I am not a fan of small talk but you have to start somewhere, right? So when I found myself in the same scenario a few days ago, I began asking the questions above. The answers were quick to come from my friend, stating each statement in a matter-of-fact fashion. But then I asked her: “Why did you decide to resign from your previous job?” She had to think about it for a few seconds before finally answering me. And it was an awkward and almost-uncomfortable silence because I knew I was getting deeper into her life. She answered anyway, and somehow I was able to see far deeper than what the eyes can see, and I start to see her heart and her needs.

Wedding series: Bride-chilla or Bride-zilla?

I thought of writing a short article for the newly-engaged out there! Yes, you! If you just got engaged, congratulations!  Maybe you're probably just like me, sometimes hysterical, sometimes overwhelmed with the things that need to happen before you walk down the aisle. "No to this, yes to peace" -- repeat 10x
