Read Fave: Time keeper

Hi Bookworms! Do you have reading resolutions for the year? :)

Fully Booked has noted several possible resolutions on their Facebook page. Thanks to them because they're really good at giving bookies a consistent push to keep reading and expand their book choices.

For this year, the single note I dedicate to my book-loving self is this: Read, read, and please, READ!

2013 was such a pathetic year for me -- for someone who claims to love reading. I only finished five books and one of which is Ramon Bautista's "Bakit Hindi Ka Crush Ng Crush Mo?!" which is so short and light, I am not sure if it should even count :P haha! But I enjoyed the book RB, kudos to you!

So here I am, trying to make amends and make up for lost time by being more diligent in sticking to my reading resolution, which is to finish 1 book per month. ...And so far, for the first month of the year, I am safe! Yaaay! I just finished the first one on my reading list last Friday: Mitch Albom's "Time keeper."

Author of the bestselling book, Tuesdays with Morrie, Albom is at it again: reminding his readers on what matters most in life. This time, he reminds readers to make every waking moment precious through the story of Father Time. In the story, Father Time is given a second chance to redeem himself through the lives of two completely different people, thousands of years later.

When I read Albom's work, I just know that he is the type to only pick up a pen with a definite purpose in mind. He actually reminds me of my sister, who blogs here. Both seek to inspire and cut through culture by questioning it and going back to the truth.:)

It's a quick read and is divided into several short chapters. So if you're the busy dude or gal who flinches at thick hardbound books, then this one is for you.

Honestly, Albom is a little serious for me. :P I like to read books peppered with humor, sarcasm and depth. Although Albom has the last one and has an amazing skill in weaving stories and characters in a surreal setting. So for that, he is a good writer because he has a great story to tell, with the best intention in mind -- which is to glorify God through his books :)

"There is a reason God limits our days."
"Why?"
"To make each one precious."

Mitch Albom also wrote "Five People You Meet in Heaven," "For One More Day," and "Have a Little Faith."

Bridal Shower Ideas

Hey pretty ladies! Throwing a bridal shower for your dear friend soon? Here are some ideas that you may want to explore :)

i love You

Just sneaking in a post to share how God has been good to me all my life :) Somehow, no matter how much I try or anyone tries, I haven't felt loved and I couldn't love the way God loves me. When I talk to people and I try to describe God's love, every analogy falls short... simply because His love is just so much more intense and it's unconditional. For this post, I want to share the role that love plays in allowing God to be the Lord of my life. :) When we talk about Lordship, it usually entails a sharp intake of breath and begrudgingly opening our hands to release something that we have held on for too long... but Lordship can also be a natural response to what is already made complete in us. Lordship, at its best, is an expression of love. :)

Japan: Lit Gardens & Shrines in Kyoto + Japan Travel Tips

On our 3rd day, we went to Kyoto! We bought a one-day Keihan railway pass since Kyoto is about an hour away from Osaka. There are different ways to get to Kyoto but the cheapest and fastest is by train. Taxis are very expensive in Japan! Buses and trains are just about the same price so you can plot your way to this famous spot either way. Fushimi Inari Shrine
