Breathing Spaces

You speak
And I listen

You move
And I stay still

I am taking it in

Listening to the unspoken words
Observing between the lines
Learning from the small, hidden gestures

I want to know
I want to be certain

I want you to move

Not half heartedly
Without a single hesitation
Without a moment of doubt

I want to know
that this was born of prayer

I want to be certain
that you have thought long and hard for this

I want to be sure
that you are committed
that you are real
that you are here

So I breathe

I leave spaces
I take it in

I wait.

Buses and trains are just about the same price so you can plot your way to this famous spot either way. Fushimi Inari Shrine

A Day with a Make Up Artist

How I wish I could do those smokey eyes without looking like raccoon and without finishing off all the dark-colored eye shadows. So lo and behold, a few weeks ago, I was able to watch how make up artists spring into action as they take out their palettes to create a masterpiece with the face as their canvas. And I kid you not, they seriously have palettes--like painter-kind of palettes :)
