Churn Out

I stumbled upon this site after googling, "God plants desires in our hearts" and I was surprised I haven't seen it before. This site is brimming with honest-to-goodness thoughts and inspiring articles of Christian women. I found myself reading one after the other, as my heart wells up with the grace of God being spilled over from these women's stories. One woman talked about being encouraged by a reader halfway across the world even before she asked God for it, another talked about doubting if she married the wrong guy and another gave tips for introverts on how to build relationships... Talk about a wide array of topics, right? So I'm sure whatever season you are in, you will find something there that just speaks to you. :)

Let’s face it, sometimes the daily grind of life leaves us discouraged. We desire to effectively serve God, our families, and our communities, but we often feel like we aren’t doing enough. Well enough. We find ourselves in desperate need of a word in due season.

At least, that’s been true for me.

Here at Ungrind, I hope you’ll find that word. It’s our goal to churn out biblically-based encouragement by being honest and transparent about our struggles, but in a way that inspires hope, faith, and perseverance. Consider us friends. The kind you feel comfortable sitting across the table with at the local coffee shop.

When you read the articles here, may you be encouraged to press on and daily seek, as Colossians 1:10 says, “to walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing to Him, bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of Him.”

So pull up a chair, grab a cup of coffee, and take a moment to Ungrind.

Japan: Lit Gardens & Shrines in Kyoto + Japan Travel Tips

On our 3rd day, we went to Kyoto! We bought a one-day Keihan railway pass since Kyoto is about an hour away from Osaka. There are different ways to get to Kyoto but the cheapest and fastest is by train. Taxis are very expensive in Japan! Buses and trains are just about the same price so you can plot your way to this famous spot either way. Fushimi Inari Shrine

A Day with a Make Up Artist

You may see me as a kikay girl, but I am practically clueless as far as make up is concerned. I have always been fascinated with people who can do eye make up. How I wish I could do those smokey eyes without looking like raccoon and without finishing off all the dark-colored eye shadows. So lo and behold, a few weeks ago, I was able to watch how make up artists spring into action as they take out their palettes to create a masterpiece with the face as their canvas. And I kid you not, they seriously have palettes--like painter-kind of palettes :)
